KOPTCHEV was founded in 1991 as a chain company – roller, round-link and conveyor chains made to drawing. Before the company was founded, under the centralized supply system, its manager Krasimir Koptchev spent over 16 years handling all imports of roller and conveyor chains into Bulgaria. He also supplied all hoist chains for Bulgarian production at Balkancar. In fact, this adds up to over 45 years of experience in chains and almost 30 years of the company itself!

Over these almost 30 years we have worked closely with the largest chain manufacturers and can therefore see very clearly the advantages and disadvantages of every brand and every production. It is exactly this invaluable experience that led us to create our own brand of roller chains. In 2014 Koptchev & Sons Ltd. officially registered its own trademark “KMD Roller chain“. The brand covers standard simplex to sextuplex roller chains to DIN 8187 and DIN 8188, and simplex chains to factory standards. Today KMD chains are available in two qualities – KMD Standard and KMD Premium.

In the same year the company registered a second trademark of its own, “BULL-Lifting”. The guiding principle of Koptchev & Sons Ltd. is the high quality of the chains we offer. The chains we supply are produced in automated series production. In addition, the chains undergo ongoing inspection and testing both during production and on receipt of the goods at our facility.

For industry we also supply all kinds of conveyor chains from leading manufacturers /to European standards, M series, series FV; to British Standard, Z series; for log transport/ to DIN, BS or customer drawings. An important requirement for conveyor chains is information about the operating conditions of the specific chain. This allows the manufacturer to choose the most suitable material and heat treatment for the specific case. Koptchev & Sons Ltd. has a questionnaire on conveyor chain operating conditions; its completion by the customer guarantees a longer life for the chain supplied.

One of the company’s busiest lines is the supply of chains for agriculture. In this area we supply the chains for original equipment in the machines of two of the large Bulgarian manufacturers. Maintenance of agricultural machinery is specific, and replacement parts are almost always needed immediately. To make things easier for our many customers across the country, we supply many shops with chains and spare parts that keep the parts in stock. When needed, we refer the customer to the nearest shop. For agriculture we also keep in stock chains for manure spreader trailers.

In round-link chains Koptchev & Sons Ltd. also offers a very wide range, including both general-purpose and specialised round-link chains – high-strength grade 8 lifting chains, 10 and 12, hoist chains, wear-resistant chains for elevators and conveyors, anchor chains, mining chains, heat-resistant kiln chains, stainless and acid-resistant chains, etc. We also have the cheaper options in stock – mainly chains to DIN 766 or DIN 763, which are widely used in various industries.
