Round-Link Chains and Accessories

The variety of round-link chains is huge. Different DIN and European standards have been developed depending on the purpose of the chain. In addition, each type of chain has different materials, different heat treatment and different technical requirements. For standard round-link chains, the quality and manufacturing method are defined by the relevant standard.

For special chains, however, the standard defines only the dimensions and minimum breaking load, and good manufacturers adapt the production to the specific operating conditions of the specific customer. For this purpose Koptchev & Sons Ltd. has developed a questionnaire covering, for example, the type, operating mode and technical parameters of the existing installation, capacity, working environment, etc. – information needed for the right choice of materials and heat treatment for special-purpose round-link chains. Careful completion by the customer guarantees a longer chain life.

It is important to know that short-link chains to DIN 766 or DIN 764 generally have better strength than long-link chains to DIN 763 or DIN 5685, as there is more steel in one metre of chain. Stainless chains also have a lower load capacity than carbon steel chains of identical dimensions
