KMD Premium Wear-Resistant Long-Life Roller Chains

KMD Premium Wear-Resistant Long-Life Roller Chains

At the end of 2017 Koptchev & Sons Ltd. launched a new series under its registered trademark “KMD chain” Long-life roller chains PREMIUM

KMD Premium are special-design chains whose parameters guarantee higher wear resistance and longer life. They are designed for heavy-duty operating conditions – high loads, continuous operation, heavy dust, production requiring the least possible chain replacement, etc. Of course PREMIUM can also be used in normal and medium-heavy operating conditions, where they simply make maintenance easier, as they last 2 to 3 times longer than normal chains without replacement. They are available as simplex, duplex and triplex chains to European standard DIN 8187 and American standard DIN 8188.

The main advantages of the new series PREMIUM are:

Solid seamless bushes and rollers

Seamless bushes and rollers – until now this combination was available only in chains from the very high price range! It ensures that when the chain is running, the stress on its working surface is distributed absolutely evenly over the bearing parts instead of being concentrated in certain areas. This means much slower wear and therefore a considerably longer service life!

Wider plate design

The side plates are taller in the middle. This helps distribute the working load better, reduces vibration and greatly increases fatigue resistance, considerably extending the life of the chain.

Special shot-peening of the plate holes

Special mechanical shot-peening of the plate holes. This is where the pins contact the plates, and this treatment ensures perfectly round holes and the best possible riveting. As a result the chain life increases considerably.

Pre-stretched at 30%–50% of the breaking load

Every chain is pre-loaded to 30–50% of the breaking load, which prevents initial stretching after installation and possible stretching during operation.

Sand-blast polished surfaces of pins, bushes, rollers and plates

The individual chain components are sand-blasted, which improves the internal microstructure, reduces stress and increases the breaking load.

Special grease used for initial lubrication of the chain

Unlike liquid lubricant, which evaporates quickly as the chain heats up, grease melts slowly and keeps lubricating the chain. Better and longer lubrication of the chain components means less wear and a longer life.

KMD Premium chains have a very small twist angle

KMD Premium chains have a very small twist angle – max. 7 degrees per 3 m, with freely rotating components.

“KMD” marking on the plates

Every chain is marked KMD on the plates – for better traceability and identification.

Considerably lower prices than all other well-known brands – for the same quality

The chains KMD Premium are considerably lower priced than other chains with seamless bushes and waisted plates. All chains come with an inspection certificate according to EN 10204-3.1

The chains of the new series PREMIUM were tested at the independent accredited laboratory Multitest in Varna, and the test results prove:
