LONG-LINK CHAINS DIN 5685-1
Untested long-link chains DIN 5685-1
Unless they have passed a load test, chains to DIN 5685 must not be used as load-bearing, suspension or lifting means within the meaning of DIN 15003 when connected to cranes or hoists – in other words, they are not suitable for dynamic processes of any kind. The chains are not strength-tested within the meaning of DIN 685-1. DIN 5685 does provide a theoretically calculable static load capacity. However, if these chains are loaded statically, for example to hang light fittings, hanging flower pots and the like, the user bears sole responsibility.
